Can I just say… I LOVE their Mama so much for letting them show up in nice clothes and never once telling them to not get dirty. I love this girl’s beautifully curled hair and pre-teen makeup and the fact she still wanted to jump right in the creek and get soaking wet with her little brother. I love little man’s adventurous spirit and how he wanted to explore every inch of his surroundings. Photographing children authentically is something I am deeply passionate about. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…yes, these are your photos but they’re also your children’s. They deserve to have moments like this photographed. I only asked one time this whole session to “look at me and smile” because I wanted a portrait of her beautiful, gentle spirit. The rest of the time, I followed them around and let them do their thing.
It was THE BEST.
So, let them be little. Let them get dirty. Let them explore. Let them have fun!!!
